No man is an island. Aside from the idea that anyone can do it, one of the most common misconceptions that people have about blogging and making money online is that everyone else is your competition. If you blog about electric cars, every other website that covers electric cars is fighting over the same traffic, the same ad revenue, the same opportunities… right? You have to work your hardest to get the biggest slice of the pie.

But wouldn’t it be better if we could just get a bigger pie for all of us to share? The truth is that you cannot and should not expect to go about doing all of this alone. We can all learn from and support one another, raising that tide and lifting all boats. This can happen over social media, in forums, at conferences and trade shows, and even from camping trips. But before you can do any of those things, you need to build your tribe.

And you need to know who you want to have as part of your tribe. Here are five invaluable qualities you should seek when looking to build up your squad of mutual supporters.

Generous

By our very nature, most of us are greedy and self-centered to some degree. It’s only natural to think, “What’s in it for me?” But if you only surround yourself with people who are only in it for themselves, it’s unlikely that you will ever gain much value from the relationship. Conversely, if you go into these relationships with only a “take” mentality and no inclination to “give,” you’re not going to get the most of these connections either. It’s not about win-lose or who comes out on top. It’s about creating a win-win, and that’s starts from a more generous mindset.

We’re not talking about money here, at least not specifically. Seek out people who are generous with their time and expertise, their guidance and their compassion. While we all have to look out for the bottom line, most assuredly, we also need to look out for one another. That’s what a squad is all about. Think instead, “What’s in it for us?” or even, “What’s in it for them?”

Motivated

We all have people in our lives who seem listless. Or even if we weren’t to go quite so far, many people may have dreams and ambitions and goals in their lives, but they don’t actually get up to do something about it. They’re either not willing to put in their effort or they’re too afraid to take the risk. Or maybe they’re just waiting to get all their ducks in a row before they take the plunge. But of course they never do.

If you surround yourself with people who aren’t self-starters, you’re not going to feel especially motivated to start yourself. When you surround yourself with people who are more enthusiastic, more passionate, more willing to go out there and give a try, you’ll be more inclined to do the same. Motivated people are great sources of motivation. Challenge one another to do better.

Tenacious

Okay, so maybe you find some people who are excited about getting started. They start a blog. And then a YouTube channel. And then a podcast. And then they start writing an ebook, building an online course, and launching an Etsy shop too. Why not? They approach each of these projects with unrivaled fervor, only to see that enthusiasm vaporize as they move on to the next shiny thing. The passion fades as the views, likes, subscribers and conversions fail to roll in. It’s not enough.

Call it tenacity, perseverance, or even stubbornness on some level. If you have friends who are willing to tough it out, who are willing to stick with something even though it’s hard or the results aren’t coming in, then you’ll have friends who will be willing to support you when things aren’t going your way either. A tribe that stays with you through rough roads can celebrate with you in smooth sailing.

Loyal

This relates tangentially to the previous point, but perhaps in a slightly different kind of way. When it comes to running a more traditional kind of business, particularly larger corporations and organizations, keeping good people around is one of the biggest challenges. Employee turnover is really high, as workers are constantly looking for new and better opportunities elsewhere. They’re looking for greener pastures where they’re treated better or have the potential for greater upward mobility.

That’s understandable, certainly, but it’s decidedly not desirable when seeking out people you want to include as part of your tribe or squad. You want loyal people who will stick together through thick and thin, even when they may or may not have a lot to gain individually. This goes back to the point on generosity above. If everyone in your group is going in with a “what’s in it for me?” mindset, they’ll jump ship when they think they’ll have more to gain elsewhere.

Grateful

Ambition is good. It’s necessary. You should absolutely have goals in your life that you are working toward achieving. At the same time, you shouldn’t attach your happiness to your success and achievements either. Far too often, we get caught up in a “I’ll be happy when” line of thinking, not being grateful for all the great things we already have in our lives. In this way, we can feel miserable when, by objective standards, our lives are already well ahead of the curve.

Being grateful is not at odds with being ambitious. If you surround yourself by people who genuinely express gratitude and joy in everyday things, in their everyday lives, you’ll be more inclined to do the same. This, in turns, leads to greater happiness overall. It doesn’t matter if you make a million dollars a day if you dread waking up in the morning. Be happy first, then you can work toward your success.

Together. As a tribe.

Today, Lamborghini Squadra Corse presents the SC20. The SC20 is a unique open-top track car approved for road use. The project is the second one-off engineered by the motorsport department and designed by Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The car was created following the customer’s wishes, who was involved in the project from the very first drawings by Lamborghini’s designers.

The goal was to build a unique vehicle, extreme in its design and performance, and able to combine aerodynamic solutions taken from racing Lamborghinis incorporating unprecedented lines and exclusive details.

The carbon fiber body was polished and slicked down by hand by the Lamborghini aerodynamic engineers to deliver optimal airflow for both performance and the cockpit’s occupants, ensuring comfortable open-air driving even at high speeds. The pronounced front splitter is framed by two fins and the air intakes on the front hood are inspired by those of the Huracán GT3 EVO, while the sculpted body sides reflect the solutions adopted on the Essenza SCV12. The muscular rear is topped by a large carbon fiber wing that can be set in three different positions: Low, Medium and High Load.

The SC20 features exclusive details starting from the body colors on a Bianco Fu (white) base, created for the customer, on which the Blu Cepheus (blue) livery stands out. The same shade is found in the interior, alternating with Nero Cosmus (black) and Bianco Leda (white). The most significant element of the passenger compartment is the visible carbon fiber used for the dashboard cover, rear wall, door panels, center console and steering wheel trim, in addition to the monocoque. Carbon fiber is also used for the shells of the seats upholstered in Alcantara and leather. The door handles on the other hand, are machined from solid aluminum. Lastly, the air vents are created using 3D printing technology at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.

Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, stated, “The SC20 is a combination of sophisticated engineering, Italian craftsmanship, sportiness and advanced design. It is also an example of applying our V12 engine and carbon fiber to a radical open-top vehicle that unmistakably carries the Lamborghini DNA.”

The SC20v engine is based on Lamborghini’s flagship V12: the 6,498 cm3 aspirated twelve-cylinder that delivers 770 CV at 8,500 rpm and develops 720 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It is managed through the optimized seven-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) gearbox. The power is discharged to the ground by the four-wheel drive system with central electronic differential, and the Pirelli PZero Corsa tires are mounted on single-nut aluminum rims, 20 inches in front and 21 inches at the rear.

Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, commented, “The SC20 is one more technical and styling exercise that associates Squadra Corse experience with Lamborghini design, masterfully interpreted by our Centro Stile based on the customer’s wishes, which was the focus of the project during the entire vehicle development and construction process.”

Imagine a situation in which you’ve launched an eCommerce business. You’re done promoting it, and now your website has started gaining traction too.

More and more people are visiting your website each day, and some are even enthusiastically adding items to their cart. But a moment later, they simply vanish, abandoning their cart as it is.

Can anything be worse than that?

Shopping cart abandonment is one of the most common problems in the eCommerce world. It’s the process in which people add items to their cart but leave your website before completing the checkout process.

Most people don’t take this problem seriously. If you’re one of them, you have no idea how much money you’re leaving on the table.

Luckily, this problem can be solved. And by doing that, you can easily recover your lost sales and instantly increase your conversion goal too. So let’s find out how to reduce cart abandonment quickly to increase your revenue.

1. Reduce Page Load Time

A major reason why people leave your website is its loading speed. No one likes slow websites.

For eCommerce websites, people expect the loading speed to be under 2 secs. This means that if your load time is more than that, the possibility of losing your sales increases too.

So, optimize your website speed to stop that from happening. You can use free tools like Pingdom to check your site speed.

There can be various reasons why your site is loading slow. It can be due to your web hosting service or your CDN. You should also consider reducing the number of plugins you use, compressing your website images, and minimizing the number of JavaScript and CSS files on your site.

Sometimes you may also need to optimize your database to speed up your site. It’s hard to tell why your site is loading slow. The reason for that can be different for different websites. So you have to identify what’s causing it for your site.

2. Improve Your CTAs

Another way to reduce cart abandonment on your website is to improve your CTAs. The call-to-action that you use on your website needs to be clear and straightforward.

Sometimes marketers try to be clever with their CTAs. But instead of working for the best, it only confuses your users forcing them to abandon their shopping cart altogether.

To stop that from happening, use simple and plain action verbs to label your CTAs. Instead of using generic terms like Next Step or Continue, use intuitive labels like Continue to Payment, or Review your order, etc.

This will make it clear for your users to understand where they’ll land upon clicking on a specific button. It’s a great way of avoiding confusion and reducing cart abandonment on your website.

3. Use Cart Abandonment Push Notifications

Many people often abandon their shopping carts, thinking that they’ll continue shopping later. But they tend to forget about it after some time.

Sending cart abandonment push notifications to such customers is a great way of gently reminding them of the items in their cart.

Doing so can quickly boost your sales and increase your conversion rate. Plugins like PushEngage make it easy to send such notifications.

You can use it to recover your lost sales simply by adding automatic browser notifications for your customers who abandoned their carts.

It lets you select the number of times the notification needs to be sent. You can also choose when to send it. You may want to send it right after the customer abandons the cart or several minutes later as per your understanding.

You also get to personalize your push notifications by adding images of the items in your customer’s carts.

This reminds them of the product they wanted to buy and encourages them to continue shopping.

4. Optimize Your Payment Process

Another way of reducing shopping cart abandonment is to optimize your payment process. Many people exit your website simply because they don’t have the patience to complete the long and complex checkout process.

So try to offer a better payment experience. You can do that by removing the unnecessary fields from your checkout form or clearly labeling them as optional where possible.

If you’re using a longer form, try splitting it into 2 or 3 different steps with fewer fields in each step. This avoids confusion and doesn’t overwhelm your buyers with a complicated payment process.

Another important factor to consider while optimizing your payment process is to choose a trustworthy payment software.

People aren’t comfortable giving away their payment details unless they are sure that the payment option is a secure one. So it’s important for you to pick a software that makes security their first priority.

It’s also a good idea to offer several payment options rather than just one. So apart from using their cards to make the payment, let them connect your site to PayPal, Apple Pay, or Amazon Pay. This will allow them to make the payment even without entering their credit card details.

For customers who choose to pay through their card, give them an option to save their details. That way, they don’t have to enter their details every time they make a purchase. Additionally, you can offer payment plans that allow shoppers to make monthly payments on their purchase. Such options simplify the checkout process and reduce cart abandonment to a great extent.

Shopping cart abandonment happens in all eCommerce businesses, and it will continue to happen. That’s because not every visitor landing on your site makes a purchase because they need the product. This is especially true for window shoppers. Cart abandonment for such shoppers is extremely common. And you can’t help it.

But losing potential customers because of a technical malfunction or a broken checkout process can massively drain off your profits. So try stopping that from happening. The above points can help you do that effectively and regain your lost sales easily.
